HydroSediNet is an international network fostering collaboration between those involved in sediment management including hydropower companies, utilities, manufacturers, consulting firms, universities and research institutions, governmental agencies, NGOs and financial institutions.

The objectives of the network are to:

  • Promote cooperation within the sediment management community

  • Promote sustainable sediment management and adaptation to climate change

  • Share validated technical analysis tools developed by community members for assessing and designing sediment management strategies

  • Share news, events, case studies, innovative technologies, research activities and other information of interest and value to the community

The Network consists of those involved in sediment management including hydropower companies, utilities, manufacturers, consulting firms, universities and research institutions, governmental agencies, NGOs and financial institutions.  

The platform aims to enhance existing initiatives of Network members by fostering collaboration. Any of the resources, tools, publications, events, etc. disseminated by the Network’s platform are freeware and open source.

HydroSediNet gratefully acknowledges the financial support extended by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) to develop and maintain this platform.  ESMAP is a partnership between the World Bank and 18 partners to help low and middle-income countries reduce poverty and boost growth through sustainable energy solutions.

HydroSediNet has been established within a global study in sediment management. The study has been supported by the newly established ESMAP Hydropower Development Facility with funds received by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.

Join the Network

The Network consists of universities and research institutions, consulting firms, utilities, hydropower companies, governmental agencies, manufacturers, INGOs and financial institutions. No participation fees are required and anybody interested is free to join upon request.
